A Santa Clarita man was arrested last week for allegedly strangling his girlfriend during an argument.

According to Acting SCV Sheriff’s Station spokesman Robert Jensen, last Friday around 3 a.m., the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 22100 block of Crestline Trail in Valencia regarding a welfare check.

According to Jensen’s statement, deputies came to help a 19-year-old woman who called the police on the allegation that her boyfriend, whom she had been with for a month, attacked her.

According to the victim, her boyfriend pulled her hair and strangled her.

“Deputies responded and positively identified the suspect,” Jensen said.

Ryan Harmon, 20, of Valencia, was arrested and transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station, where he was later released on bail.

Harmon is scheduled to appear in court on December 15, 2024.
