WINTHROP, MASS. (WHDH) – A former Winthrop police lieutenant accused of sexually assaulting a child changed his plea to guilty Monday morning.

James Feeley pleaded guilty to aggravated rape of a child and seven counts of assault and battery on a child under 14.

Prosecutors claimed the attacks took place at his home.

Before His arrest last DecemberFeeley was a protective parent.

The victim in the case is expected to speak before the judge decides whether to accept the plea.
