CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (FOX26) — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was hospitalized after being shot in Chowchilla on Saturday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, they received a call early Saturday afternoon about a shooting near Road 22 and Santa Fe Drive in Chowchilla.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a woman who had been shot.

The woman was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

No other statement was made about his condition.

The MCSO investigations office determined that the assault occurred at a home in the area.

They later executed a search warrant at a home in the 26000 block of Road 22.

This remains an active investigation.

No suspect(s) were taken into custody.
