‘Chaotic’ shooting at Minneapolis nightclub: Three injured

What do we know?

According to Minneapolis police, just before 2 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of 4th Street North for a report of a person with a gun when they heard gunshots coming from Tantrum Nightclub.

Police said officers responded to the sound of gunfire and found a person who had been shot. He was taken to hospital with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Officers then heard more gunshots from the parking lot next to Tantrum, where they found a man driving recklessly, authorities said.

Officers were able to stop the car and retrieve the firearm, and the man was arrested, police said.

Later, officers heard gunshots for a third time, but police did not provide details on where the gunshots were heard.

Police learned that in connection with the shootings in Tantrum, a man and a child were dropped off separately at Hennepin Medical Center with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Authorities say a fight inside Tantrum led to shots being fired inside, and more shots were fired in the parking lot as customers ran outside.

Thanks to the courage and professionalism of our officers, a man was arrested after discharging a firearm and a bad situation was interrupted before it got worse.”
