Eyewitnesses described how an Israeli airstrike destroyed a five-storey residential building in Beit Lahia, killing at least 50 Palestinians and wounding others.

According to Al Jazeera’s news, based on medical sources, the number of deaths in the massacres carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip since dawn on Sunday has increased to 96, and there are dozens of injured and missing people. Among the victims, at least 72 people were killed in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Strip.

The Gaza Government Media Office reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out four brutal massacres in Beit Lahia alone, killing more than 72 Palestinians.

Additionally, two other massacres in the Nuseyrat and Bureij refugee camps in central Gaza resulted in the death of 24 Palestinians due to the bombing of houses.

Eyewitnesses state that most of the casualties in Beit Lahia were caused by Israel’s incessant bombings targeting residential buildings and civilian areas.

These attacks affected areas across Gaza, including Beit Lahia, Jabaliya camp, Gaza City, Nuseyrat and Bureij camps, and Rafah City.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, Israeli warplanes targeted houses in the Beit Lahia project, causing catastrophic casualties. Preliminary reports indicate that one raid alone resulted in 50 deaths, while another killed 15 more.

Eyewitnesses described how an Israeli airstrike destroyed a five-storey residential building in Beit Lahia, killing at least 50 Palestinians and wounding others.

The building housed more than 70 displaced people trapped under the rubble.

Another nearby house housing displaced persons was also bombed, killing 15 people and injuring others.

Additionally, two Palestinians were killed in a separate airstrike on another house in Beit Lahia.

Efforts to rescue victims in Beit Lahia remain extremely challenging due to the lack of civil defense and ambulance services, paralyzed by ongoing Israeli bombardment and the ongoing siege.

Previously, Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces had destroyed houses in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza using robots and explosive barrels since the morning and wiped out entire neighborhoods.

A medical source in central Gaza confirmed that 11 bodies and many injured had arrived at local hospitals following overnight bombings in Al-Bureij camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces bombed a house belonging to the Aql family in Block 9, killing 10 people.

A house belonging to the Al-Maqadma family was targeted in Block 7, and a woman was killed and others were injured.

A separate attack on the Sukkar building at the entrance to Al-Bureij injured many people, while four raids on Block 12 caused major damage but no casualties.

Ongoing Genocide

Israel has faced international condemnation for its ongoing brutal assault on Gaza, in defiance of a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.

Israel, which is currently on trial at the International Court of Justice for the crime of genocide against Palestinians, has been waging a devastating war in Gaza since October 7.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 43 thousand 799 Palestinians were killed and 103 thousand 601 Palestinians were injured as a result of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which has continued since October 7, 2023.

Moreover, at least 11,000 unnamed people are estimated to have died under the rubble of their homes along the strip.

Israel says 1,200 soldiers and civilians were killed at Al-Aqsa Mosque on October 7. Israeli media published reports that day claiming that many Israelis were killed as a result of ‘friendly fire’.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and injured are women and children.

The Israeli war led to a severe famine, mostly in northern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of many Palestinians, mostly children.

Israel’s aggression also resulted in the forced displacement of nearly two million people from across the Gaza Strip; The vast majority of those displaced were forced to go to the densely populated southern city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border, which has become Palestine’s largest city. Mass migration since the Nakba of 1948.

In the later stages of the war, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians began to migrate from the south towards the center of Gaza in search of permanent security.
