Halton police are searching for a man who fled the scene of a targeted shooting in Oakville that sent one person to the hospital.

Just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a man was shot outside his home in the area of ​​Wavecrest Avenue, Creek Path Boulevard and Tawny Crescent. An exact address was not given by police.

As a white compact-style SUV approached the home, a man was seen exiting the vehicle and immediately confronting the resident.

During the ensuing confrontation, the victim suffered a gunshot wound. It was learned that the injured man, who was seriously but not life-threatening, was treated at the hospital.

The attacker escaped by getting into a minibus immediately after the incident. No make, model or license plate taken.

It was stated that the suspect was wearing dark clothing and a mask covering the lower part of his face.

Police said the victim was targeted during the attack. They are actively investigating and are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information regarding the incident.

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage or surveillance footage that could help the case.
