2024 FBS event ends with talks on Asean, scientific research, Europe and US-China ties

The 2024 Family Business Summit (FBS) concluded in Hong Kong, with more than 100 wealthy family principals and speakers gathering to discuss a wide range of topics.

The second day of the sideline event kicked off with a discussion about opportunities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) as Malaysia prepares to assume the rotating presidency of the regional bloc. The panel, moderated by Post’s Editor-in-Chief Zuraidah Ibrahim, included Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Tony Fernandes, chief executive of Capital A Berhad, which operates Southeast Asia’s largest airline AirAsia.

A panel discussion on Hong Kong’s role in advanced science was headlined by two groundbreaking researchers from the School of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, both among the world’s leading authorities in their fields.

Before lunch, a panel discussion on the future of Europe’s security was held. Moderated by JPMorgan’s co-chairman of global banking, Filippo Gori, the panel included former European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso, former Spanish Foreign Minister Arancha Gonzalez and former French ambassador to China and Japan, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne. England and Germany.
