14-year-old charged with attempted murder in Baltimore robbery

BALTIMORE, MD — A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 11 shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Baltimore’s Central District.

Police said the suspect shot the victim multiple times during the robbery attempt in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. The shooting occurred around 3:22 p.m. and was initially detected by a ShotSpotter alert.

Responding officers found the injured 15-year-old boy in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. The man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and continues to receive treatment.

On November 16, the 14-year-old suspect surrendered to the Central District police station. Authorities then transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was formally charged.

No further details about the case, including the victim’s condition or the suspect’s court proceedings, were released.
