The driver of the minibus, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry.

The other two passengers of the van were evaluated at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

The crash scene is being retained for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.

In a statement, a Garda spokesman said: “Any road users who received dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident are asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station 064 6671160 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.”
