Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office seeks assistance in death investigation

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office officials are requesting the public’s assistance in an investigation into human remains found Saturday morning.

Deputies said the investigation began with a report that human remains were found in the 1900 block of Highway 425.

Thanks to the large number of items collected at the site, investigators said they believe they have identified the remains as those of Randy Devon Grubbs. Their remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further investigation.

Grubbs’ last known location was Pine Bluff in July, and multiple attempts to locate a family member were unsuccessful, authorities said.
