who Susan Ryeland? Atticus Pünd is a former book editor who oversaw mystery novels. She is now retired and runs a hotel in Greece with her boyfriend.

“What turns up in Sunflower is certainly quite unexpected for Susan,” Manville said. “A couple named Trehernes… They come to the hotel in Crete because they know Susan is the publisher of the Atticus Pund books. Their daughter went missing and… eight years ago, on her wedding day, a murder took place in Crete at their hotel.

“Before their daughter disappeared, she had read Atticus Pund Took the Case, one of the novels written by Alan Conway, and knew something about the murder that had occurred eight years earlier and led to her disappearance.”

Who is Atticus Pünd? A fictional detective created by Alan Conway.

“Well, actually he dies, or we know he will, by the end of The Magpie Murders,” McMullan said. But in the next story, of course, Susan goes forward in time, but Atticus Pünd goes back in time to a previous book. So he’s actually a little younger than he was in The Magpie Murders, and he’s not as sick. So he’s here too.

“Chubb’s story in the 1950s is actually a prequel to season one of The Magpie Murders in the ’50s,” Mays said. “So we kind of go back in time and this story actually takes place in Devon, where the first time he meets Pünd is actually the first time they meet.

“For Locke, on the other hand, it’s a sequel to The Magpie Murders and he’s actually a normal, angry, quite difficult character. He’s like a bear with a headache again. Susan Ryland is back on her own turf again and Lesley Manville’s character is very much with Susan.” faced a heavy, two-man game.”

“I am happy to say that thanks to the strength of the previous film, I have been brought back to life to play Alan Conway,” Hill said. “In The Magpie Murders we saw him being pushed to a terrible death. The Magpie Murders was his last novel.

“This novel is her third novel. We see Susan, played by the wonderful Lesley Manville, looking back at the book and trying to solve a murder and mystery. The Magpie Murders had two investigations going on in the 50s and the current investigation and this is the same with that one.” “
