ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – One man is dead and another is injured following an overnight shooting in Lakewood Heights, according to Atlanta police.

Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the Little Bear Food Mart on Jonesboro Road SE, where they found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.

A short time later, officers were called to a home located off Lakewood Terrace SE, less than a mile from the food market. A 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso was also taken to the hospital.

Police believe both men were injured in the same incident, but the circumstances of the incident remain unclear. The shooting is under investigation.
