According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s wife arrived home to find her husband in the home with a medical emergency.

Authorities arrived via EMS and entered the home, cleared the home, and EMS pronounced the husband dead.

Investigators learned the man, a Spring Branch ISD employee, was shot, officials said.

As a result of the investigation, authorities learned that the man was at home this morning and that his wife left home to go to work while he was working in the garden.

At one point, the man went inside the home he was in, authorities said.

Authorities stated that his wife had spoken to him before and that this was the last conversation until he returned home before 16:00.

Authorities also said he was supposed to pick up a family member but didn’t, so his wife went to check on him and found him.
