Toronto Raptors Top Guard Will Miss Detroit Pistons Game

The team lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in overtime. Detroit Pistons They will face the Toronto Raptors on Friday in their second match in the NBA Cup. The Raptors, who are in last place in the Eastern Conference, will be without a handful of their best players.

Last season, Toronto acquired Immanuel Quickley from the New York Knicks as part of the OG Anunoby trade. The young guard performed well when he joined the Raptors, but his first season with the team got off to a rocky start.

Quickley has played in just three games so far for the Raptors as he continues to deal with an elbow injury. It was reported that the young guard would be re-evaluated next week but was ruled out against the Pistons. Quickley has slowly started to return as he has been participating in workouts this week.

In his three games so far, Quickley is averaging 15.3 PPG and 4.0 RPG while shooting 37.5% from beyond the arc. His best individual performance was a 21-point breakthrough against the LA Clippers on November 9.

With Quickley and others not on the Raptors, the Pistons have a chance to take advantage of a depleted team. The only player they should watch out for is Gradey Dick. The former lottery pick is off to a hot start in his second year, averaging over 20 points per game heading into Friday.

Detroit couldn’t handle an injury-hit team in the last game, but it took an incredible performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo to steal the win from them. Considering the Raptors don’t have that kind of star power, the Pistons have a good chance to get back into the win standings.
