Two people arrested, one on the run after chase ended with PIT maneuver in Chattanooga

Two Hamilton County men are facing charges after the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says they fled deputies in a stolen vehicle.

On Friday, the Automated License Plate Reader notified deputies that a stolen vehicle was on Middle Valley Road near Valleywood Drive, according to HCSO.

Deputies later located the stolen vehicle near Bowman Road.

The vehicle proceeded towards Highway 27, at which time deputies attempted a traffic stop; However, the driver took off and the chase began.

Red Bank Police Department officers quickly joined the chase.

At one point, authorities said they placed two different sets of nail strips on the ground that the driver ran over.

But these strips did little to stop him.

Deputies then attempted to corner the vehicle, but the driver crashed into the deputy’s patrol unit and was able to escape again.

Eventually, deputies used a PIT maneuver to successfully stop the vehicle in downtown Chattanooga.

Meanwhile, the 4 people in the vehicle set off on foot.

Deputies were able to catch up with all of them except the driver.

Meanwhile, deputies charged one of the passengers, Quincy E. Harris, with the following charges:

  • Theft
  • Evading Arrest (on foot)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Material.

Deputies also charged another passenger, Tramel Hubbard, with Evading Arrest (on foot) and Resisting Arrest.

Anyone with information about this pursuit or the identity of the driver is asked to contact HCSO at 423-622-0022.
