DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) – The 23rd Judicial District Court announced the following criminal charges entered during the week of November 11-15, 2024:

RISE SECTION

1. Brittney Brown, age 36, of Baton Rouge, LA, pleaded guilty to Theft of Value $1,000 or More but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and was sentenced to 5 years probation.

2. Jennifer Persilver, age 22, of Ethel, LA, pleaded guilty to Identity Theft (3 counts), Unauthorized Use of a Food Stamp Card (3 counts), Forgery, and Bank Fraud. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

3. Kacy Weise, age 39, of Gonzales, LA, pleaded guilty to Forgery of Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate and Theft of Value of $1,000 or More but Less than $5,000. 5. Candice Ross, age 38, of Morgan City, LA, pleaded guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in the Louisiana Department of Corrections for time served.

6. Alex Castro, age 19, of Gretna, LA, pleaded guilty to Theft of Value $1,000 or More but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

7. Jerret Cortez, age 36, of Morgan City, Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to Domestic Abuse Involving Strangulation and was sentenced to 3 years in prison with time served in the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

ST. JAMES DISTRICT

1. Lloyd Brooks, age 60, of Gramercy, LA, pleaded guilty to Failure to Register and Report as a Sex Offender or Child Predator. Sentencing was postponed to a later date until the Pre-Sentencing Investigation was completed.

2. Shatisha Burns, age 47, of Gramercy, LA, pleaded guilty to Theft of Value $5,000 or More but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 2 years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and suspended 2 year supervised probation.

3. Mack Mclemore, age 36, of Quitman, MS, pleaded guilty to Domestic Abuse with Serious Bodily Injury. The sentencing was postponed to a later date.
