Louis Vuitton Introduced Its New Flagship in New York

The doors of Louis Vuitton’s new five-story integrative shopping experience on Manhattan’s 57th Street have opened. Steps away from the iconic Maison’s landmark NYC store, which closed for a multi-year renovation project, the temporary concept store (LV’s largest to date in America) combines all of the house’s features and also includes the first storefront. Louis Vuitton chocolatier in the USA.

Upon entering the Art Deco-inspired building, guests are greeted in the open atrium by freestanding sculptures developed by Shohei Shigematsu of architecture firm OMA that reference the Louis Vuitton luggage-making legacy. Each of the five floors of the temporary space covers a separate universe; While the first floor is devoted to leather products, the second floor is women’s clothing, and the third floor is men’s clothing. In its fourth edition, guests will find Le Cafe Louis Vuitton, a new culinary experience that expands Louis Vuitton’s reach as a destination for food and cultural inspiration. The fifth floor is divided between three intimate lounges and dedicated retail lounges, which include a dedicated area for the Objets Nomades and Art de la Table collections. Unique to this floor is also a loft-style secret room that will be dedicated to clocks and jewellery.

To celebrate the opening of the new retail concept, a men’s and women’s capsule ready-to-wear collection, as well as leather products, accessories and gift products bearing the New York signature, were launched. Think: the newly released Neverfull Inside Out in a taxi yellow hue, and the city’s iconic license plate scaled down to be transformed into a bag charm that graces the Avenue Slingbag and Keepall, for example.

The new cornerstone of culture and retail renews the connection between Louis Vuitton and New York that first began in 1898 and encompasses both brand discovery and the Maison’s wider cultural impact.
