APWWS calls for increased safety at hospital and compensation for Seppa victims

ITANAGAR, 15 November: Expressing deep pain over the horrific incident that led to the death of four people at Seppa district hospital, Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) said, “such barbaric acts are unacceptable and against the principles of humanity and justice.”

APWWS called on the state government to compensate the victim’s family members and staff and implement increased security measures for official staff and patients.

The association said the rapid response of the police in Seppa saved many lives:

He added that the brave actions of Seppa Police Station officer Menli Geyi Karko and the medical staff who risked their lives to save others were highly commendable and deserved recognition.

While APWWS condemned the horrific incident, it said it stood in solidarity with the individuals affected. “Our hearts go out to the family members who lost their loved ones at this difficult hour, and we pray for the speedy recovery of those receiving treatment,” APWWS said.

Meanwhile, APWWS president Kani Nada Maling, along with team members Oyam Binggep and Rerik Karlo Digbak, met with Minli Geyi Karko and her husband, who are being treated at TRIHMS, and expressed their support and solidarity.
