Josh Brolin had a tense falling out with his stepmother, Barbra Streisand, during her battle with alcohol addiction.

The actor, whose father James Brolin married the singer/actress in 1998, struggled with substance abuse issues for years but has been sober since 2013 and has now revealed that he had a very difficult conversation with Barbra when she visited her home and asked for a glass of wine. wine.

“My father, James Brolin, married Barbra in 1998, when I was 30, and we were all going to live happily ever after. That was the ticket,” Josh wrote in an essay for the Wall Street Journal based on his memoir, ‘From the Bottom of the Truck.’

Josh’s mother, Jane, divorced James in the mid-1980s but died in a car crash in 1995, and the ‘No Country for Old Men’ star admits his stepmother tried to help him as much as she could.
