Mumbai: Congress on Friday told EC that Shiv Sena led by CM Eknath Shinde was using Marathi television serials for the campaign. State Congress general secretary Sachin Sawant said he met EC officials here and lodged a complaint. “I was told that this was a serious matter and proper investigation would be done,” Sawant said.
Sawant alleged that posters of Shinde-led Sena appeared in outdoor scenes of some TV serials and this was a serious violation of the model code of conduct. “Political posters were shown in the November 13 episode of ‘Gharo-ghari maati-chya chuli’ on Star Pravah channel. Posters were also seen in the recent episodes of ‘Premachi gosht’,” he said. PTI
