Body found in North Austin; Police are investigating it as a murder

Police said a person was taken into custody and they were interviewing key witnesses after a body was found in North Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Department is investigating the latest homicide in the city. North Austin.

Police said a 911 call came in around 1 a.m. about gunshots in the 8400 block of Goldfinch Court.

When the teams arrived at the scene, they saw that one person had died.

A person of interest was detained at the scene and taken to APD headquarters for further questioning.

Police said they do not know at this time what the connection between the person of interest and the deceased is.
