New York Knicks Receive Bad News in Last Two Minutes Report

New York Knicks‘ The final heartbreaking defeat was at least accurately named.

The NBA’s Final 2 Minute Report from the Knicks’ Wednesday night tilt against the Chicago Bulls confirmed the officials’ decision to call a crucial foul on Josh Hart. New York’s 124-123 defeat.

The call came with just over three seconds left in the game: With the Knicks ahead by two points, Chicago’s Coby White hit a futile three-pointer but was fouled by Hart, who tried to defend the shot from behind. Hart was called for a shooting foul, and White sank each of the three free throw attempts made to create the Bulls’ margin of victory.

“Hart places his hand on White (CHI)’s back during the shooting motion and initiates further illegal contact to the back of his head,” the report states.

Hart himself Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was far less helpful but made little attempt to protest the callWhen asked about it afterwards, he just offers an exasperated shrug.

The missed call mentioned earlier in the report actually helped keep the Knicks’ failed comeback effort alive: The league decided that Wednesday’s metropolitan hero, Karl-Anthony Towns, should have been called for a foul on Zach LaVine with 1:01 remaining. what’s left

“Towns is side-stepping LaVine’s path,” the report says.

Towns, who scored 46 points in the defeat, made knee-to-knee contact with LaVine, who was accused of committing a turnover at the end of the ball. The score was 119 at the time and Jalen Brunson gave the Knicks a brief lead with a double at the other end.

Even though the missed call wasn’t a shooting foul, Chicago was in the bonus. Not only would LaVine be awarded a free throw, but Towns would also foul out when he picked up his sixth foul. Towns, who spent the rest of the game with a noticeable limp, appeared to bear the brunt of the damage.

The Knicks return to action Friday night when they host the Brooklyn Nets (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
