BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Palm Beach man is dead after allegedly running a red light and crashing into a pickup truck driven by a West Boynton Beach man. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says: BocaNewsNow.com It was stated that the accident that caused the death of Leonard De La Paz Ramos occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to PBSO, Ramos was traveling on a motorcycle westbound on Southern Boulevard in the outside median strip and approaching Kirk Road. The driver of Vehicle 2 (V-2), Patrick Pearce of Boynton Beach, was traveling eastbound on Southern Boulevard in the left turn lane. According to Pearce, Ramos was turning left under green traffic lights when he ran a red light and struck the passenger door of his vehicle.

During the accident, the front of Ramos’ motorcycle hit the front right side of the pickup truck. Both vehicles were able to stop at the intersection. Both drivers were taken to St. Petersburg for treatment of their injuries. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Ramos succumbed to his injuries and died at 7:42 a.m.
