Initially hesitant about a Christmas album, 24-year-old Carey locked herself in a cabin in upstate New York for a grand holiday in July. The “Obsessed” singer drafted a nostalgic manifesto with her late collaborator Walter Afanasieff. It was inspired by his childlike idealized vision of Christmas and continues to do so year after year after its publication.

“Whenever Christmas gets close, I come up with ideas for different Christmas songs and I just kind of push them aside,” he told Fox 5 NY. The song has since topped global charts, earned Diamond certification and Earned over $100 million in royalties. “A Woman’s Heart” by Summer Walker

The lead single from the upcoming final installment of Walker’s “Over It” trilogyFinally It’s Over, dives into the emotional complexities of love. Part of the buzz on social media is Walker’s pen play, “I put the blame on myself for giving you chance after chance,” which got fans excited to see a more vulnerable side of the R&B singer.
