A Warren man is facing felony charges after an incident in the city on Sunday.

Damian Brown, 31, of Warren, was charged with strangulation, which means applying pressure to the throat or neck, a Class 1 felony; aggravated assault – causing or attempting to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, a class 2 felony; misdemeanor of threatening terrorism with intent to injure another person and a charge of simple assault and harassment. The charges were filed Wednesday with Magistrate District Judge Raymond Zyronik by Warren City Police.

According to the probable cause filed by city police, Brown was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman during a custody exchange of their children, when Brown allegedly became angry while talking to a third party on her cell phone. Beforehand, “He was waving the knife around and saying, ‘I’m going to kill you and the children.’

The woman told police Brown pushed her to the floor of the woman’s bathroom and wrapped his hands around her neck, causing her to lose consciousness.

“While the victim was being questioned by police, the victim had multiple visible red marks in the neck and throat area.” stated in the declaration. “The defendant also bit the victim’s face in the cheek area.”

City police also filed charges against a Warren woman facing a felony charge on Thursday. Tiffany N. Christenson, 37, of Warren, after she allegedly tried to smuggle illegal opioids into the Warren County Jail and asked an 11-year-old boy to take a drug test for her. Christenson is charged with trafficking/controlled substance, a class 2 felony, corruption of minors, supplying drug-free urine – using or attempting to use a controlled substance, and possession with intent. Charges were filed Thursday and bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.

When an officer interviewed a Warren Police Department parent on Oct. 15, Christenson allegedly asked their daughter to urinate in a cup for a drug sweep at Christenson’s Warren home on Oct. 11, according to the probable cause affidavit. Between October 11 and October 15, Christenson was allegedly taken to the county jail for a parole violation.

On October 16, Adult Probation provided Warren police officers with a Visene bottle containing ‘urine’ belonging to Christenson. Christenson was also allegedly found with the bottle of Visene that Christenson had hidden when he went to prison, along with four round orange pills and a red straw containing residue. The pills allegedly were Klonipine, which was not prescribed but was taken for anxiety, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

“On November 4, 2024, at 13:24, (the child) completed the CAC forensic interview.” stated in the declaration. “During the interview, (the juvenile) disclosed that he ‘urinated’ into a clear measuring cup in exchange for the defendant’s use of his cell phone on or about Friday, October 11, 2024.”
