CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland Cavaliers unveil 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition The uniform at the Cleveland Museum of Art is the inspiration for this season’s design, celebrating the “Art of the Game.”

All 30 NBA teams are receiving city edition jerseys that represent their team’s stories, history and legacy “to honor the inherent connection between the court, the community and the culture.”

The Cavs call the jerseys “a wearable canvas celebrating Cleveland’s visual arts.”

“Arts and sports are two powerful forms of human expression, and this is a great opportunity to highlight all the ways they both inspire and connect people from all walks of life,” said Todd Mesek, Marketing Manager for the Cleveland Museum of Art. “This partnership not only celebrates the great traditions that bind us together, but also our opportunity to inspire the next generation.”

“This year’s Nike NBA City Edition jersey honors Cleveland’s rich visual arts culture,” said Cleveland Cavaliers Chief Marketing Officer Chris Kaiser. “It is designed to take fans back to where many of them were first introduced to art through coloring books and paint by numbers, while also connecting them to a beloved Cleveland institution. “This year’s uniform turns each of its designers into artists and its models into living works of art.”

The jerseys aren’t the only elements you’ll see highlighting the “Art of Play” of the game.

A City Edition Court has been designed to accompany the new topics in the six City Edition games throughout the season.

The Cavaliers will wear City Edition jerseys on this special arena during the following games:

• Sunday, November 17, 18:00 vs. Charlotte Hornets
• Thursday, December 5, 19.00 – Denver Nuggets match
• Monday, December 23, 19.00 – Utah Jazz match
• Sunday, January 12, 18:00 against Indiana Pacers
• Wednesday, March 5 19:00 – Miami Heat
• Thursday, March 27, 19:00 – against San Antonio Spurs

In addition to the games, the Cleveland Museum of Art is partnering with the Cavs for its monthly MIX event on December 6.

The theme of the Ames Family Atrium at the museum is “The Art of Play.”

The Cavs, Cavaliers and Cleveland Museum of Art will donate $10,000 to the Rainey Institute to positively impact Northeast Ohio youth through art and arts education, the Cavs said.

The Rainey Institute has been described as “a community organization that offers children of all ages the opportunity to explore and develop their talents through arts education programs after school, on weekends, and during the summer.”

The Institute will receive the check at the last match of the City Edition.
