Top In-State Prospect Officially Signs with West Virginia

On Thursday evening, West Virginia University men’s basketball head coach Darian DeVries announced the signing of 2025 guard/forward Braydon Hawthorne.

“We are thrilled to welcome Braydon to our Mountaineer family,” DeVries said. “Braydon’s 6-foot-10 height and positional size on the wing are tremendous. His skill, shooting and length, as well as being a 4.0 student and West Virginia native, were things we valued in his recruiting. We are excited to help Braydon develop on and off the court.”

The Beckley native left for West Virginia on Oct. 4.

Hawthorne currently attends Huntington Expression Prep in Huntington (WV) and is averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. Hawthorne previously attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley.

Dr. He was MVP at the Pepper Classic and rated as a standout at the Paul Biancardi Camp. Hawthorne is also paying for Phenom United 25.
