No. 3 Shawnee girls soccer tops Ocean City in back-to-back SJG3 finals

Madelynn Sadusky scored twice to lead Shawnee, ranked No. 3 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 2-0 victory over Ocean City, ranked third in South Jersey, in the Group 3 final in Medford.

This was Shawnee’s second consecutive sectional title. The team, which plans to return to the state final after falling in last year’s championship game, will travel to face Central Jersey champion Jackson Memorial in the Group 3 semifinals on Monday.

Sadusky’s two goals brought the team record to 19 total for the season. Madison Zaun assisted on both goals as Shawnee improved to 23-0 on the season. Mackenzie Borbi made eight saves as her team recorded its 17th shutout of the season and went scoreless in all four games of the regional tournament.

Kaia Ray made nine saves for Ocean City, which finished its season with a 20-5 record.
