Pentagon releases new report detailing increase in UAP incidents but no evidence of aliens

The Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) on Thursday published a new report Research on unexplained weather phenomena (UAP) revealed that there was an increase in observations, but there was no evidence of extraterrestrial beings.

The review comes a day after House Republicans held a hearing on the issue, calling for greater government transparency in investigations into UFOs. The hearing highlighted the increase in reported incidents and asked whether the sightings were due to U.S. equipment, espionage by foreign governments, or “another world.”

The Pentagon’s report investigated 757 previously unexplained sightings from around the world reported to the United States between May 1, 2023 and June 1, 2024. According to the Associated Press.

Investigators found explanations for 300 of the reports, but hundreds remain under investigation. But in most cases, this is because there isn’t enough evidence to draw firm conclusions, the paper’s authors said.

“It is important to underscore that, to date, AARO has discovered no evidence of extraterrestrial entities, activity, or technology,” the authors wrote.

Explainable examples have largely been attributed to airplanes, balloons, birds, drones, and satellites, including Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite system.

The investigation reported no injuries or accidents, but a crew member on a commercial flight off the coast of New York said they nearly hit a “cylindrical object.” This incident is still under investigation.
