F1 News: Lewis Hamilton Makes Shocking Supercar Admission

As a Formula 1 driver, we can naturally expect: mercedesLewis Hamilton Being an avid collector of the latest supercars and hypercars fresh off the showroom floor. But the seven-time world champion claimed his interest in modern fast machines had waned and that there was “something missing” in them. Instead, he developed a passion for classic cars, influenced by their distinctive sound and emotion, as well as an interest in art.

Hamilton’s recent announcement that he will be moving to Ferrari for 2025 has caused a stir in the F1 world. His 12-season tenure at Mercedes marked the highlight of his career, claiming six of the seven world titles before ground effect regulations come into force in 2022. Since then, Mercedes has been plagued by performance difficulties and achieved only limited success until a brief revival this year. season.

Looking for his eighth championship, Hamilton decided to make a big move to F1’s oldest team, Ferrari. But the 39-year-old has also moved from the world of supercars and hypercars to the world of classic cars and art, and finds new cars very unappealing, as he feels they lack individuality and look pretty much the same. Explaining that his last purchase was a Mercedes-AMG ONE, also known as Project One Hamilton said:

“The last car I bought was Project One.

“Of course, I always look at the cars at home and see what comes up.

“But honestly, most cars today look the same. There’s something missing.

“What I will look at are the old classics. If I were to go out and buy another car it would probably be an old classic in terms of sound and feel.

“There are not many brands today that embody this feeling. “It’s not the same thing.”

Putting aside his passion for new cars, the Briton also announced that he discovered new artists, especially black artists from Africa, and that he aimed to recognize their talents and support them by purchasing their art. He added:

“I’m more interested in art these days.

“So that’s the kind of thing I would enjoy, discovering new artists, like black artists, especially from Africa. So that’s what I’ll usually buy.”

With three races remaining in the 2024 season, Hamilton’s aim is to end his journey with Mercedes on a high note, but recent races have seen him encounter difficulties with the W15 F1 car, particularly with the car’s handling levels. Hamilton finished tenth in the last Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
