Jaquan Brisker Placed on Injured Reserve with Concussion

Jaquan Brisker’s concussion condition is so serious that the Bears placed him on injured reserve after he missed four straight games.

Brisker suffered the third concussion of his career in a game against Carolina on October 6 and did not return. On Wednesday, Matt Eberflus announced that Brisker will not participate in Sunday’s game against Green Bay. Brisker remained in concussion protocol but remained on the active roster until after Thursday’s practice.

Brisker suffered a concussion against Atlanta in 2022 and missed two games; Last season, he suffered an injury and missed two more matches.

The Bears defense took a big step forward Thursday, health-wise, when they had Montez Sweat back in practice for Sunday’s game against Green Bay.

Despite the ankle injury he suffered against New England last week, Sweat was able to practice on a limited basis, appearing in only 29 games, or 45% of defensive reps.

A shin injury kept Sweat out of the previous game; because he only played half of the snaps against the Commander in the game when he went through this ordeal. He missed practice on Wednesday.

The Bears were without pass rusher Darrell Taylor last week against the Patriots due to a knee injury, and Taylor was able to practice on a limited basis the last two days.

The injury situation on the offensive line continued to progress; Darnell Wright and Braxton Jones had limited practice for the second straight day after missing last week’s game with knee injuries.

Other Bears who missed practice included Kiran Amegadjie (calf), guard Teven Jenkins (ankle) and tight end Marcedes Lewis (rest).

Also limited but practicing were safety Tarvarius Moore (concussion) and linebacker Noah Sewell (knee).
