Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong will begin trial matches at the 50,000-seat stadium in January

Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Sports Park will begin holding trial matches at its main 50,000-seat stadium in January as authorities step up drills at smaller facilities within the venue, including doubling expected attendance numbers.

A rugby Test match between Hong Kong and Brazil Authorities expect 3,000 people to attend the event, which will be held on Saturday at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Field, which has a capacity of 5,000 people.

“We will gradually increase the intensity and scale of the trial runs and increase the number of participants each time,” said Sports Commissioner George Tsoi Kin-pan.

Tsoi also said officials will hold multiple test runs, including a basketball game in December, and expand the trials to a closed area in the park.

Without revealing the events to be held, Tsoi added that test runs will be held in January for the 50,000-seat stadium, the park’s flashy facility with a flashy roof.
