SAN ANTONIO – A fire inside an 18-wheeler has caused major closures along I-10.

Around 6:40 pm Wednesday evening, solar panels carrying a semi-truck caught fire on the lower levels of I-10 Eastbound in Culebra.

The fire not only closed the eastbound and westbound lanes, but also closed the upper eastbound lanes for a time as the flames were high enough to reach the upper levels.

While no one was injured in the fire, it was learned whether there was any damage to other vehicles.

Although the westbound lanes have since been cleared, crews are still trying to clear the eastbound lanes, causing major traffic.
