Aldis Hodge and Isaiah Mustafa Supported Each Other on and Off-Screen Productions TO GO PAST

“Judging by the support you see on screen and the support that emanates off the screen, it’s a real brotherhood, it’s kind of a casualty of our real-life relationship,” Hodge told BOSSIP.

“Yes, we had no choice,” Mustafa interjected playfully.

“We were lucky to be able to work with each other on this because we respect each other equally as individuals, as men, and as artists, and when we step on set it’s truly a teamwork effort.” Hodge continued. “When we’re going through scenes, if we want to add something to the dynamic of the scene, take something away, or try to find the right tone, we just say, ‘Hey man, look I’ve got an idea… I’ve got an idea.’ idea… How do you feel about this? Boom, boom, boom…’ and then we go because we’re building this together and what we have as collaborators is the moment you step on set you know we’re a great collaborator.”

TO GO PAST Stars Aldis Hodge and Isaiah Mustafa Met with Forensic Psychologist Before Filming

The spirit of brotherhood was very real when we spoke with Hodge and Mustafa about their research in forensic psychology. Hodge began by joking that no matter how scary things got on screen, he and Mustafa were fearless about the challenges they faced.

“First of all, I wasn’t scared at all, okay?” Hodge exaggerated. “I’m here, okay? We’re out there. Extensive research has been done on previous real-life serial killers, and I’ve had the opportunity to sit back and study and learn about these people in a little bucket. It’s weird the way people are motivated, but at the same time, it’s normal for them in their world.” “They think it is, so I think it’s a little disturbing but interesting.”

“We had the opportunity to visit a forensic psychologist together and he talked to us with another detective in the room who was an actual detective, so we had to take notes about that and everything,” Mustafa added. “He had a book that he gave us: The Sociopath Next Door (By Martha Stout, Ph.D.) So that opened my eyes to a lot of things that I didn’t know about ordinary people actually walking around…like the thoughts that go through someone’s mind.”

“Did you find some things familiar?” Hodge joked, displaying scolding that appeared to confirm the actor’s closeness.

“I found you in that book,” Mustafa said.

Hodge replied, “Yes, because I think I found you.”

Mustafa laughed: “I know you found me, I’m on the next page.”
