Hyderabad:Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Pediatric Heart Care and Research Center said it is ready to perform heart surgeries at its hospital at Kondpaka in Siddipet district.

The president of the foundation, Dr. C. Sreenivas said that registration for parents with children requiring heart surgery has started and the first surgeries are expected to take place on November 18 or 19.

Speaking at the event on Thursday, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, a member of the foundation, said his satisfaction in helping provide life-saving surgeries to children exceeded his joy of reaching a double century.

The foundation has established hospitals for the treatment of congenital heart diseases in different states including Haryana, Maharashtra and now Kondapak, Telangana. Since its inception in 2012, it has performed more than 30,000 pediatric heart surgeries and treated more than 2.54 lakh children.
