Chicago shooting leaves teenager injured at home on North Lorel Avenue in Austin, CPD says

CHICAGO (Wales) — A 16-year-old boy was injured when a bullet went through the window of his Austin home Wednesday night, Chicago police said.

Chicago police responded to the 600 block of North Lorel Avenue just before 10:45 p.m. for a report of a person shot.

When police teams arrived at the scene, they found the young man shot in the hip at his home.

CPD said the bullet that hit him came through the window. It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

The child was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition.

No one was in custody Thursday and District Four detectives were investigating.
