Video: The missing wallabie that was on the run for days was caught in Kentucky

When Lexie Mullins reviews home security video Chavies, Kentucky, The resident saw something that made him do a double-take.

In video outside Mullins’ home, a native Australian marsupial that resembles a small kangaroo can be seen running around outside.

“I never thought I would see that day,” Mullins wrote in a Facebook post shortly after seeing the animal for the first time on Nov. 9.

Three days later the wallaby returned.

Apparently, wallaby is the pet of Kentucky residents and accordingly it is legal to possess fox 56. He was on the run for several days until East Kentucky Thermal Drone Recovery helped capture him and reunite him with his owners.

“We’ve tracked so many things, from deer, elk, bears, dogs, horses, humans, you name it,” the company said on Facebook. “But tonight is the icing on the cake.”

The marsupial belongs to the same family as kangaroos and quokkas and is native to Australia.
