Donald Trump says he can’t ‘get rid of’ Elon Musk

President-elect Donald Trump apparently can’t get rid of his new best friend Elon Musk.

“Elon I won’t go home“I can’t get rid of it,” Trump reportedly joked to his fellow Republicans. “At least until you don’t like him.”

The SpaceX owner is said to have been a near-constant presence at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida since the presidential election, with the pair regularly dining together and even playing golf.

Musk also appeared regularly in Trump’s calls to other world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Technology reporter Kara Swisher told CNN on Sunday, November 10, that Musk’s presence even unnerved some of Trump’s advisers, who allegedly called the situation strange.

“It definitely adds to itself all the time,” he said. “That’s his style. That’s why it suddenly appeared as if a guest (who) was not going to leave.

“I heard the Trump people say, ‘Wow, that’s weird,’ and I said, ‘Yeah, you’re going to see a lot more.'”

Following his election victory, Trump announced that he had created a special position in his administration for Musk, whom he called a “great American.”

The South African-born billionaire will head the Department of Government Efficiency at DOGE, named after Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, alongside fellow entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

“This will send shockwaves through the system and everyone involved in government waste – which is a lot of people,” Musk warned after news of his appointment emerged.

Musk’s promise was the same one he made before his acquisition of Twitter, now known as X, when he promised to purge bots from the social media site. But bots now seemingly more common than ever.
