Ipswich Town submit training ground improvement plan

Ipswich Town Football Club has submitted plans to expand its training centre.

The Premier League club said the redevelopment of its Playford Road ground would include the creation of a “state-of-the-art” first team building.

New areas included in the plans included a hydrotherapy centre, a modernized gym and rehabilitation areas for players.

Work is expected to start in 2025 and be completed the following year ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The club said the existing main building at the center would be expanded and refurbished and subsequently used by the academy and women’s sides.

A new entry point for players, staff and visitors will be created, as well as extra food court and parking.

“We need to spend multi-million pounds on facilities at the training ground to get us up to speed,” he said.
