Pregnant Gary woman disappears near location of teen’s previous missing case: police

Police are looking for a missing young girl and a 25-year-old pregnant woman. Gary, Indiana in recent months.

Emma Baum, 25, was nine months pregnant when she was last seen Oct. 10 in the 2500 block of Connecticut Avenue, according to Gary police. Authorities say Baum may have given birth since her disappearance.

Baum is described as being 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 136 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has numerous scars on her arms and numerous tattoos, and has been known to wear wigs and hair pieces in various styles and colors.

Her disappearance follows 13-year-old Ja’Niyah McMichael, who disappeared Aug. 11 within a few blocks of Baum’s last known whereabouts. Police say McMichael may also be pregnant. He is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Gary police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Baum or McMichael to contact authorities.

Police did not say whether the two cases were related.
