Rochester Regional Health ranked top 100 in cancer care

Rochester Regional Health (RRH) has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s prestigious list of the nation’s Top 100 Health Systems with outstanding Oncology Programs. This award highlights RRH’s Lipson Cancer Institute’s outstanding work in advancing patient-centered cancer care through clinical trials and groundbreaking research.

Becker’s Hospital Review, a respected authority on healthcare industry rankings, evaluates hospitals and health systems based on cancer care, patient outcomes and overall excellence. Institutions are selected solely on merit, with no financial involvement, underlining the high standards of care provided by RRH.

“Recognition of the quality of cancer care provided by Lipson Cancer Institute is just one example of how Rochester Regional Health distinguishes itself as a leader in local and national healthcare,” said RRH CEO Richard “Chip” Davis, PhD. “Our team’s expertise and dedication ensure that our patients and their families receive the highest level of care.”

In addition to Becker’s award, Lipson Cancer Institute recently received full three-year accreditation as a Network Cancer Program from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. This distinction makes Rochester General and Unity Hospitals the only upstate New York cancer network to achieve such recognition.

RRH Oncology Executive Medical Director Dr. Prad Phatak emphasized the importance of the accreditation and said: “This honor underlines the work of our multidisciplinary oncology teams who tirelessly provide gold standard cancer care to our patients, recognizing that it extends far beyond the physical to include mental and emotional health.”

These recognitions position Rochester Regional Health and Lipson Cancer Institute as leaders in oncology, setting high standards for care in the region and beyond.
