Animal trio reunited at animal hospital after fiery l-15 crash

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Three animals have been reunited and three animals injured in a fiery crash on Interstate 15 earlier this week are recovering at an animal hospital in Henderson.

on November 8 semi truck overturned and caught fire when it collided with a caravan containing two dogs and a turtle.

Rescue group Paws Patrol LV stepped up to start caring for the animals. A dog they named Miracle had burns on his face, body and paws. They later learned that her name was Chloe.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chole was reunited with other pets at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital in Henderson. Her tail was wagging excitedly when she was reunited with Jim the Pomeranian.

Jim also suffered burns to his hind legs. The injured turtle was placed in the same playground.

Chloe was rescued by a good Samaritan about two miles from the scene of the crash.

“As you can see, his front paws are bandaged and his front paws are pretty burnt… I don’t know if this is from the fever or from running or a combination of both. You could see his whiskers were burned, he had some burns and lacerations around his face,” said Maressa Larimer, a veterinarian at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital.

In addition to immediate medical care, the team at Horizon Ridge also makes sure Chole receives plenty of TLC.

“I give him lots of love. The staff here are loving left and right. He is a very, very sweet dog,” Larimer explained.

On Thursday, the owner of the animals who were hospitalized after the accident will be reunited with them. Vets hope Chole will be dehydrated and ready to go home by then.

Paws Patrol LV has helped several dogs, including bulldog Reba, who was recently found dumped behind a grocery store and stuck in a closed trash can.
