Five people were arrested during anti-gun patrols in Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police said patrols were carried out in the city center and areas of Whitmore Reans where there were concerns about weapons possession.

One person was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated burglary, as well as multiple burglaries and vehicle theft, where the knife was seen.

Another man ran from officers in West Park but was arrested after a short chase, police said. Three more people were arrested on suspicion of theft, harassment and domestic assault.
