‘Golden Bachelorette’The leading lady left her journey with a ring on her finger during the season finale on November 13. Faced with a “life-changing decision,” viewers in Bora Bora saw Joan say “yes” to Chock’s proposal.

The final episode left Joan forced to choose between Chock and Guy; Joan made an offer with strong feelings for both of them.

But before Guy could meet his family, he went to his hotel room and cut things off.

This left Joan ready to tell Chock that she loved him.

When Joan and Chock met on the beach, Chock started by telling Joan how much he loved her.

“I’m so happy to be in your life and to have you on your mind,” she began. “We had a magical journey. It was absolutely incredible. And you are the most selfless, selfless woman I have ever met.”

She told Joan that she would honor her late husband by loving him every day. ” This is the most important thing to me. And Joan, you will never be invisible to me. I will tell you that I love you every day, I promise you that.”

He concluded: “I still think I’m in a dream and I’ll just wake up. But Joan, I love you and I want you in my life.”

Joan told Chock that she decided a year and a half ago that she needed love in her life again. “I thought I saw a future with you ever since our first date at Disneyland. And for the first time in a really long time, I was dreaming of a future with someone else,” she shared.

Chock said that when he left due to his mother’s death, he was “worried” that she wouldn’t be able to return. “That’s when I realized I couldn’t make this journey without you,” Joan said. “You comforted me, you made me feel safe, I felt like we could take care of each other, and I knew you would never hurt me. That’s when I start to imagine our future a little more vividly.”

“We are living proof that no matter what life throws at you, there is still hope, even at our age. Until this moment, in this amazing place, I have waited to tell you that I love you and that this is how I want to spend the rest of my life. Waking up next to you in the morning and kissing you when I go to bed at night.” I want.”

Then Chock got down on one knee and popped the question. “I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” he said. “Joan, will you marry me?”

Chock and Joan had a special bond from the very beginning; insurance manager first one-on-one meeting of the season. The two initially bonded over the deaths of loved ones: Chock’s fiancee, Kathy, died five months after being diagnosed with glioblastoma, and Joan’s husband of 32 years, John, died of pancreatic cancer in 2021.

“He’s a gentleman,” Joan said of why she chose Chock as a first date. “He is a kind person and I know that family is as important to him as it is to me.”

The two continued to form a deep bond throughout the season and hometowns When he arrived, Chock’s family also saw sparks flying.

“He had no doubt that it was him,” his son Tyler said. “I love seeing that, how confident he is in who he loves.”

After Chock called it “one of the best days of my life,” Joan agreed.

“There’s something real here,” he told her at the end of the day. “I see a future now. “The big black hole…it doesn’t look like a big black hole anymore.”

Earlier this month, Joan opened up to PEOPLE She described how the show helped her overcome lingering feelings of grief surrounding her late husband. He said that when he realized that he could hold love for more than one person in his heart, he was finally able to move forward.

“I improved a lot throughout the season,” he said. “I came there thinking I was so ready to find love, and then I realized it was a very different journey than I thought it would be. But I feel like I’ve grown, and I don’t think I would ever be where I am today if I hadn’t done this, because it gave me the motivation to get through some of these emotions quickly because I wanted to finish. “I agreed with someone.”

Joan added that she was finally “exactly where I needed to be.”
