Woman taken to hospital after multiple vehicle collision

A woman was taken to hospital after a four-vehicle accident this evening. Emergency services were called Pre-Scots Path, St Helens On Wednesday, November 13, around 17.27.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Police teams were dispatched to the scene to rescue the woman trapped in the vehicle. While firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle, paramedics used a neck brace to safely remove the woman, who was hospitalized, from the vehicle.

Mersey Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there were no other apparent injuries. A spokesperson told echo: “Fire crews were called to a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) on Prescot Road this evening. St. Helens. The teams were alerted to the scene at 17.27 and 17.33, with the participation of two fire trucks and search and rescue teams.

“Crews arrived to find a four-vehicle RTC with all vehicles on four wheels. Five occupants in three of the vehicles were outside with no apparent injuries upon crews’ arrival. In the remaining vehicle, a passenger was trapped in the crash.

“Firefighters assessed the casualty and prepared the vehicle for the roof to be removed while waiting for the North West Ambulance Service to arrive. Upon NWAS arrival, paramedics used a neck brace to safely remove the casualty from the vehicle for transport to hospital. Merseyside Police also controlled traffic at the scene “The teams left the scene at 19.07.”
