READFIELD — Maranacook Regional High School and Maranacook Community Secondary School will be closed Thursday after an alarming incident was reported to administrators, officials said.

Details of the incident were not clear Wednesday night, but to mail Administrators are working with school resource officer Deputy Nathan Johnson and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the matter, the school’s website www.maranacook.org said.

Maranacook Regional High School and Maranacook Community Secondary School are part of School District Unit 38, which enrolls students from Manchester, Mount Vernon, Readfield and Wayne.
