Pistons left out Rising Star injured in Wednesday’s game against Bucks

Detroit Pistons will miss rising star Jaden Ivey in their match against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.

Ivey is dealing with a toe sprain, according to the team’s injury report. As a result, he will miss his first game since the start of the 2024-2025 NBA season.

Recently, Ivey survived another setback. Last week, the veteran guard hit his knee in the shin, which put his playing status in question going forward. Fortunately, the Pistons didn’t have to cut Ivey in their next outing and beyond. He actually stayed off the injury report.

That won’t be the case Wednesday night, the second night of a back-to-back set.

Ivey will be a big loss for the Pistons on Wednesday. He had success playing alongside Cade Cunningham in the first 12 games of the season. The backcourt duo has certainly silenced its critics so far this year, and a big part of that can be attributed to the steps Ivey has taken.

In the first part of the season, Ivey averaged 19 points on 46% shooting. He takes five shots per game from three and knocks down 36 percent of them.

In addition to the goal he scored, Ivey recorded 5 rebounds and 4 assists. So far, the Pistons’ veteran junior is gaining steam in the annual Most Improved Player conversation.

Unfortunately, he won’t have the opportunity to build on that case against Milwaukee on Wednesday night. Since entering the NBA, Ivey has averaged 17 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds against the Bucks. He last played for the Bucks in January and had 17 points and 6 assists.

Pistons and Bucks will meet at 20.00 GMT.
