INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — How are debris cleanup progressing in Indian River County following Hurricane Milton?

WPTV’s Mello Styles went straight to the source to find out when all the debris will be cleared.

Debris recovery efforts throughout Indian River County have continued uninterrupted since Hurricane Milton hit.

Public Works Director Addie Javed noted: “This is still a work in progress; We’re not quite done yet. “I ask people to be a little more patient with us.”

‘IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME’: How long will debris cleaning take in your district?

The County is committed to fulfilling its promise to remove all debris within a specified time frame.

“Our goal, if nothing else, is to make sure everything is cleared before the holiday,” Javed said. he said.

Javed noted that the teams worked day and night to clear the debris and drew attention to the diligent efforts of the district.

“We have both internal and external teams working there on weekends and around the clock to ensure the debris is removed as quickly as possible,” he explained.

With another significant storm likely on the horizon next week, I asked Javed how his team is preparing.

“Talks on this issue are already ongoing,” he said.
