Wareham tow truck driver collapsed at scene of car crash in Bourne

A 52-year-old Wareham tow truck driver died at the scene of a three-car crash Tuesday. Bourne Police.

Police were called to the intersection at 5:15 p.m. Scenic Highway and to respond to a car crash on Nightingale Road. police expression. A local tow truck operator was clearing the road and helping lift the vehicle and collapsed at the scene.

Police administered first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation using an automatic external defibrillator, and Bourne Fire and Rescue were called and rescue efforts continued. The man was transported to a nearby hospital, according to the release.

Despite rescue efforts, the man died, police said.

The name of the man and the towing company were not immediately released pending notification of the family.

In the police statement, “It is with sadness that we share the details of this incident. We extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the tow truck operator.”

Members of the Bourne Police Department work closely with community tow truck operators and rely on them daily to help keep roadways clear and safe, police said.

Police said no one was injured in the crash involving three vehicles.
