1.4 million Honda vehicles inspected over engine failure concerns

US government’s highway safety agency is investigating as many as 1.4 million people Honda and Acura Vehicles following complaints that engines may fail.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s investigation covers the Honda Pilot and Acura MDX from 2016 through 2020, as well as the Honda Odyssey and Acura TLX from 2018 through 2020. Honda Ridgeline from 2017 to 2019 was also included in the investigation.

In the documents on the website, it is stated that there is a possibility of failure of connecting rod bearings in vehicles with 3.5-liter V6 engines, which may lead to complete engine failure. One owner even reported a vehicle accident.

A similar recall occurred at Honda in 2023. recalled for approx. 250,000 tools to solve similar problems.

The new investigation does not include the same vehicles involved in the 2023 recall.

So far, Honda is willing to cooperate with the investigation.
